Unvieled, From Fig Leaves To Freedom
A Marriage Retreat
A powerful weekend retreat helping married couples move from hiding and self-protection into deeper healing, communication, and communion.
Through Scripture, prayer, silence, guided reflection, couple exercises, Confession, Adoration, and Eucharistic encounter, couples will:
Recognize the “fig leaves” they hide behind
Identify wounds, lies, vows, and self-protective patterns
Encounter the Lord who comes looking with love
Learn to receive one another again
Rebuild communication, blessing, and spiritual unity
Create a simple rule of life for marriage
Renew their vows and be sent forth in freedom
Each couple receives two single rooms. This intentional space allows each spouse to rest, pray, journal, and reflect privately, while still coming together throughout the retreat for guided conversation, prayer, and couple exercises. The goal is not separation, but freedom: space for each person to encounter God personally so they can return to one another with greater honesty, tenderness, and love.
You were not made to hide from one another. You were made to be seen, known, and loved.
Your Journey at a Glance
Day 1
Fig Leaves
What are you Hiding Behind
Every person carries wounds, fears, judgments, and patterns of self-protection. Some are obvious. Others are hidden.
On Day 1, each person is invited to look honestly at the “fig leaves” they hide behind.
Reflect on how you were created for the fullness of good
Recognize the lies and vows shaping your reactions
Identify self-protective patterns that create conflict
Ask the Lord to reveal the root beneath the pattern
Encounter the Lord who comes looking for you
Day 2
Unveiled
RECEIVE ONE ANOTHER AGAIN
Healing begins personally, but marriage is restored in communion.
On Day 2, couples are invited to see one another again, not as problems to manage, but as mysteries entrusted by God. Drawing from Ephesians 5 and the relationship of Mary and Joseph, couples will be guided into deeper conversation, prayer, and renewed openness.
Reflect on the call to love through mutual surrender
Recognize where you have reduced your spouse to a problem
Learn to receive your spouse with reverence and trust
Pray together for deeper communion
Day 3
May They be One
BE SENT FORTH IN FREEDOM
Love is not only healed; it is rekindled.
On Day 3, couples are invited to call out the good in one another, speak blessing and honour, and learn to intentionally turn toward each other again. The retreat concludes with a simple rule of life, renewal of vows, and a sending forth.
Awaken love and gratitude
Name the good in your spouse
Speak blessing and honour
Learn to woo and pursue one another again
Create practical rhythms for married life
Renew your vows and being sent forth in unity
Rooms
Each couple receives two single rooms for the weekend.
This gives each spouse space for prayer, rest, journaling, and personal reflection. Couples will still spend intentional time together throughout the retreat, but the private rooms support the personal healing work that allows each spouse to return to the other with greater freedom.
Doors Open 8:00 am Saturday February 13. First session at 9:00am
Rooms may be available for Friday night for an additional cost. Please contact to request.
This retreat is led by married couples, Triumph team members, and priests who love the Lord and care deeply about marriage and family life.
The team is made up of ordinary people who know that marriage is beautiful, holy, and sometimes hard. They come not as experts with perfect marriages, but as people who have experienced the Lord’s mercy and believe He can bring healing, freedom, and new life into every home.
Throughout the weekend, the team will share from faith, prayer, and lived experience, while creating a safe and welcoming space for couples to encounter God personally and together.
